A second hotbar row. Eight more slots sit above your hotbar, used with Shift+1-8 (the key caps read ⇧1 to ⇧8). Drag abilities from the Spellbook onto either row, and drag slots between rows to rearrange them. Don't need it? Turn off Settings -> Interface -> Show second hotbar row.
Food and potions on the hotbar. Drag food, potions or other usable items from your satchel onto any hotbar slot (or right-click one and choose Add to hotbar). The slot shows how many you carry in total, and its key eats or drinks one, from whichever stack holds it, so sorting your satchel never breaks it. When you run out the slot greys out but keeps the item for next time, and it shows the food or potion cooldown while it recovers.

Shift is still sprint: pressing a number while you hold Shift to run uses the second row, and you keep sprinting. With the second row hidden, Shift+number uses the main row instead.
Your hotbar setup (both rows) is saved with your character. Existing characters keep their bar and start with an empty second row.
