Jewelcrafting, a new artisan skill of the Scroll of Stone. Cut gems from Moonstone (level 1) up to Starstone (level 90), shape plain metal bands for every tier (start with a Copper Band at level 1, no gem needed), and set rings, amulets and a new line of circlets (light headwear) from bars and a cut gem. 35 recipes, plus its own Scroll Cape.
The jeweler's bench, with a lapidary wheel, ring mandrel, gem tray and hooded lamp. You'll find one wherever a workbench used to stand (Hearthmoor's is beside the smithy on the east street) and beside every town furnace that didn't have one.
Enchanting has a gem-free start: press a Rune of Stone from 5 whisper dust at the altar.
Brother Tamsin teaches Jewelcrafting ("Can you teach me to cut gems?") and points you to the bench.
Changed
Gem cutting moved from Enchanting at the workbench to Jewelcrafting at the jeweler's bench, and rings and amulets moved from Smithing at the furnace to Jewelcrafting. The chisel is now a Jewelcrafting tool.
The quests Ink and Runes and A Lens for the Lamplight now send you to the jeweler's bench and give some Jewelcrafting XP. The Stone chronicler lamp trains Jewelcrafting instead of Enchanting.
