Patch

HUD edit mode, map pins and signposts

Another round of fixes and ideas from your bug reports. Thank you for sending them in.

Interface

  • New HUD edit mode: open it from Settings > Interface > Edit HUD, or press Shift+F9. Drag the minimap, menu buttons, action bar, chat, player and party frames, buffs, target frame, compass, quest tracker and more wherever you like, and resize any panel from 50% to 200%.
  • Panels snap to the screen edges, the centre and each other (hold Shift to place them freely). Reset one panel or everything at any time. Your layout is saved to your character, so it follows you to any computer.
  • HUD edit mode also works with the keyboard: Tab picks a panel, the arrow keys move it, +/- resize it, Enter saves and Esc cancels.
  • Settings has a search box: type to find any setting across all tabs, including key bindings. Esc clears it.
  • Crafting categories can be collapsed and expanded, with Collapse all / Expand all. Your choice is remembered on this device.
  • Bug report screenshots now include your HUD and open windows, exactly as you saw them. The report window itself stays out of the picture.

Map pins

  • In cursor mode, right-click the ground to drop a map pin there. Right-click a tree, rock or fishing spot to pin it with that skill's icon.
  • Map pins can use any skill's icon. They show on the map, the minimap and in chat.
  • Clicking a pin someone shared in chat opens your map on it, with rings that make it easy to spot.
  • New My pins tab on the world map: jump to any pin, edit it, track it on the compass, or remove it. There's also a "Pin where I stand" button.

World

  • Signposts show the place name on both sides of every board.
  • The old three-armed signposts are gone. Every road leaving a town now has a two-way signpost: one board points back to the town, the other to the next place along the road.
  • Signs by danger zones name the places each way along the path, and pointless posts on dead-end tracks outside town are gone.
  • Captain Dunne no longer stands inside a garden fence in Hearthmoor.

Combat

  • Leaping Cleave shows its cleave cone while you aim it and where you land, so you can see exactly what it will hit.

Fishing

  • Each fishing tool now catches its own fish. The Lobster Pot uses one Fish Scrap as bait per catch and catches lobster; without scraps it won't fish, and the game tells you why.
  • Harpoons need no bait. They catch swordfish at sea from level 45 and sharks in deep water, and never bring up lobster.
  • Rods (with feathers) work rivers, ponds, lakes and marshes. The Hand Net works the shallows.
  • Carrying both a pot and a harpoon? Bring Fish Scraps to pot lobsters, or equip the harpoon to spear swordfish.
  • Tool, bait and fishing spot descriptions, the fishmonger's tips and fishing quest text now give the right tools, bait and levels.

Characters

  • Mounting while sitting ends /sit instead of leaving you in a sitting pose on your horse.
  • Jumping on your mount no longer leaves your arms hanging down.
  • Leather jerkin hem flaps now move with your legs, so your thighs no longer poke through them.
  • Fixed shadows shimmering on moving characters and their gear, like a shield on your back while you run or ride.
